Cegeka keeps on growing

Cegeka keeps on growing with a 871 million euro turnover in 2022

Cegeka, the European ICT group, keeps on growing in Europe. The technology specialist, working as a system builder, operator and key player in the field of SaaS, finished the 2022 financial year with a consolidated turnover of 871 million Euro. This represents a 17% rise on the annual figures for 2021. The group also saw strong progress in the French-speaking market. The turnover for NSI IT Software & Services, the company which represents Cegeka in the French-speaking market, has risen 23% to reach 135 million euro.*

2022 was not an easy year. Like many other companies in Europe, we were affected by the geopolitical instability and challenges of rising inflation. Despite these obstacles, we once again managed to show healthy growth. This success is entirely due to our close working relationship with our customers and the professionalism of Cegeka’s 6,000+ workers. We have also been able to make a worthy technological contribution to several social interest projects,” declares André Knaepen, founder and president of the Cegeka Board of Directors.

Strong growth of financial results in 2022*

Cegeka produced a consolidated turnover of 871 million euro in 2022. This represents a 17% rise on 2021. The operating profit increased 10% on the previous year, reaching 73 million Euro. The recurring EBITDA reached 95 million Euro, so a rise of 15% on 2021 figures.

Once again, we have managed to reinforce the Cegeka group’s financial position. At the same time, we have invested massively in our development. We did this particularly well in Scandinavia, expanding Cegeka Sweden thanks to majority participation in Solver Sweden and continuing NSI’s expansion by buying out BuSI,” declared Stephan Daems, CFO of Cegeka.

At NSI, we have continued to develop strongly over the past year. In 2022, we welcomed more than 370 new colleagues, 260 of whom are part of the BuSI Group. This now takes the total number of NSI workers to almost 1,400,” says Manu Pallage, CEO of NSI. “We shall keep on developing in 2023, by emphasising the development of our organisation in France,” declared Manu Pallage.

Cegeka is investing in the technological future

Cegeka is convinced that technology will continue to determine the firm’s future. Thanks to our good financial results, we are investing massively in technology that will make the difference in the years to come. For example, we have invested in our hybrid cloud capacities. “By buying up DexMach, we have created a cutting edge technology Azure centre of excellence within Cegeka. This implies reinforcing our hybrid cloud strategy, combining the capacities offered by hyperscalers such as Microsoft Azure with strengths from our own Cegeka sovereign data centres,” revealed Stijn Bijnens, CEO of Cegeka. “This same line of investment includes trusting digital platforms such as Nexuzhealth for health care and Smartschool for education,” states Stijn Bijnens.

2023 will be the year of AI and ‘observability’

“We foresaw that 5G and AI would be centre stage nowadays. We are currently building a 5G mobile network for Belgium, thanks to Citymesh. In the field of AI, we have an international team of over 300 experts in data and AI whose knowledge and know-how goes from BI to automatic learning. AI is here to stay: in 2023, it will be the inescapable co-pilot in our lives,” reveals Stijn Bijnens.

Furthermore, “observability” is becoming more and more important for companies in the constantly changing digital landscape today. “This is why we have put it at the heart of the Cegeka digital customers’ commitment platform: Horizon. Thanks to Horizon, we are offering our customers a ‘single view’ with an in-depth overview of individual services, allowing them to take control of their digital environment. We might say that Horizon is the digital incarnation of our ‘close working relationship’ philosophy, concludes Stijn Bijnens.

To round off, in 2023 - as in previous years - we are strengthening our cybersecurity division. This year, we have already excelled in the form of an award for Cegeka as the top Benelux cybersecurity firm in the 2023 Whitelane study.

* The financial results published are pro forma figures, which makes it easier to compare them with financial figures from previous years. Over the year, Cegeka will switch to the international financial report standards (IFRS) to draft its financial reports.
