Who are you? What is your job and how long have you worked at NSI?

My name is Romain, I originally come from Pepinster, I began working as a System Developer at NSI in August 2018.

What exactly does a System Developer do?

My work generally involves taking part in creating a high-performance, modern and reliable application to solve a problem or create a solution. I am therefore put on one or several projects, equipped with a technical specification, a team and an Agile work methodology.

Briefly describe your daily work at NSI

My days vary widely and depend on the progress I’m making on each project. For example, if a project is kicking off or at the start of a sprint, I’m likely to have more meetings as opposed to a project that is mid-development. However, development makes up most of my workdays with reading and developing stories and a chance to think it all through with the analyst.

What do you like most about NSI? What would you say about your colleagues and your managers? How would you describe the working atmosphere?

What I like most at NSI is the good atmosphere at work every day, it’s a pleasure to be part of a team. Colleagues and managers will listen to you, always ready to help. The tasks we work on are interesting and stimulate our desire to learn and do a good job. The corporate culture is also very fun as the Staff Social Committee organises a whole range of activities plus information (and staff) evenings that keep us up to date on NSI results and business, while providing entertainment as well.

Among NSI’s values, which inspires you the most or which do you identify with, and why?

Respect

Respect is the most inspiring value for me because it sums everything up. Internally, this refers to mutual respect between employees and managers. Regarding the customer, this respect tends to draw them in and make them loyal to our services, always focusing on customer satisfaction by remaining available and attentive to their requests.
