Aurore - Business Consultant

Who are you? What is your job and how long have you been working at NSI?

My name is Aurore and I’m 28 years old. I’ve worked at NSI for nearly 4 years as a Business Consultant for Microsoft Dynamics 365 ERP for Finance and Operations.

What does the job of Business Consultant involve?

The role of Business Consultant mainly consists of listening to customers and understanding their needs to be able to offer advice and make their computer system as effective as possible. To run a project properly, I am always supported by my other D365 FO colleagues. Being surrounded by a team gives us the chance to share knowledge and pushes us to give the best of ourselves.

What do you like most about this position?

What I like best is the diversity of our assignments throughout our career. Every project is different; as are the customers. Furthermore, it’s an attractive prospect that I can work from being a consultant towards something like project leader.

What are the essential qualities required?

In my opinion, you need good interpersonal skills, an acute sense of dialogue and the ability to work autonomously. In fact, customer relations are all-important in this role. Furthermore, it’s also important to be able to analyse and synthesise.

What gives you the most satisfaction at work?

I get the most satisfaction from seeing how my work can help customers and ease their daily work. What’s more, this position allows me to grow constantly and pushes me to improve all the time.

How and why did you decide to become an ERP Consultant?

My decision was based on the fact I love a challenge. In fact, my study background has nothing to do with ERP or even IT. Working at NSI has allowed me to learn something new and each new project represents a fresh challenge.

Did your studies prepare you for this role?

I took a Master’s in Digital Marketing to understand the needs of companies and how digital solutions can meet these needs. During this Master’s, I did a consultancy project for a major company and that’s when I got a taste for it. That gave me some experience in consultancy although not at all in IT. NSI gave me the chance to train in ERP and therefore bridge that gap.

Now that you’ve been working here nearly 4 years, what would you say to applicants regarding...

- Your profession?

It’s a job that I find very rewarding and that allows me to develop not only professionally but also personally. At the end of the day, this profession is highly diversified because it involves making recommendations, analysis, setting parameters and also training.

- NSI?

NSI is a company that allows employees to develop and that is not afraid to trust young freshly-qualified students. Furthermore, our dedication to our daily work is rewarded and valued.

- Your team in particular?

The ERP team in supply chain and production is a very youthful, dynamic team. You can count on each and every member of this team and trust them entirely.

Which of NSI’s values do you identify with most, and why?

Listening and understanding

As a consultant, it is important to listen to customers. It’s the foundation of our profession. This is crucial to understand the customers’ needs to be able to provide the best response. On a personal side, I have always found it important to be able to listen to someone who needs it and to be able to go out of our way to help the people around us.
