I’ve been working at NSI for the last 12 years on projects related to the Jahia CMS (Content Management System). CMS is software that helps you publish and design websites dynamically. This open-source CMS uses Java programming language which makes it very interesting in terms of interaction with our customers’ existing tools.

After working with large retailers for four years, I decided to go back to night-school to get a degree in IT, with a particular interest in management IT. After studying for three years, I applied to NSI because I had heard so much about it.

NSI is a major player in Wallonia, making it a worthy and stable employer. Its large-yet-reasonable size offers many opportunities to grow. That’s how I was recruited as a developer but then moved towards analysis to become a project leader.

The years that I spent as a Developer allowed me to really explore the business, particularly the corporate culture: structured and yet encouraging self-sufficiency; part of a team, although always supervised. There's always a colleague or a supervisor with more experience that you can rely on if necessary.

NSI has also encouraged me to take many training courses and pass several certificates, thereby pushing myself towards very interesting and varied analysis assignments (health, tourism, infrastructure, etc.) in both the public and private sector.

Projects vary greatly: from creating websites, intranet and/or internet, to setting up more complex solutions integrated in our customers’ ecosystem.

As a project leader, I am now involved in following up the projects on which I worked as an analyst a few years ago. The developer – analyst – project leader path, plus the experience amassed in the field mean that I have a better grasp of all sides of a project.

In my department, I also oversee the communication group which aims to encourage communication within the team.

I should add that NSI is truly a company that listens. Actually, I am also involved in communication in terms of proposing and completing a complete rework of the company’s intranet platform.

I find my profession exciting, I regularly meet different people, and my customers’ expectations are never the same. The problem issues vary widely... there’s no routine.
