Who are you? What is your job and how long have you been working at NSI?

My name is Karim, I’m 29 years old. I've joined NSI nearly 2 years ago and I’m a System Engineer in the ‘On Field’ Support team.

What does the role of System Engineer comprise?

In the "On Field” team, we mainly take care of customer support and manage their IT environment. We are the only on-site IT for some customers, so we not only provide support, but also advice.

This means that our job can vary; in fact, we sometimes have to tackle problems that might fall outside our skill set... I see that as an advantage because it helps us grow and expand our knowledge.

Schedule permitting, we sometimes visit the customer’s premises for all types of emergency. I have also been involved in a few projects such as the inventory of the IT environment before it migrated entirely to Windows 10.

I recently joined the ‘Network/Security’ team which means I’ll be involved in other types of projects (networks and security) and apply what I’ve learned during training; I’ll also put into practice the knowledge base that I’ve built up in this environment. That’s a major change from general support for me.

Describe your daily work at NSI in 3 words:

Challenge, Perseverance, Discovery

In your opinion, what makes NSI an attractive employer?

NSI is a company where managers listen to our expectations and the company really wants to help its technicians move forward and prepare them better for new challenges in the future.

What would you say about your colleagues and your managers?

We can count on each other; it doesn’t matter whether we know each other well or not; we all have the NSI mindset.

What do you like most about NSI?

The trust that NSI has put in me and how my managers listen to me. It’s very important to feel that people take my opinion into consideration and I enjoy that trust. I think it’s rare to be able to put your cards on the table with your managers; what I value above all is that our bosses keep their promises.

Among NSI’s values, which inspires you the most or which do you identify with, and why?

Customer satisfaction

I think my hard work all makes sense when the customer is satisfied and this means I can go home happy. I need the customer to be satisfied to also feel satisfied myself. Thankfully, I am fully aware that I can count on the NSI system to back me up when I come across a difficult task that is tricky to complete on my own.
