Who are you? What is your job and how long have you been working at NSI?

With my Swiss army knife or multifaceted profile, I joined NSI nearly 7 years ago as project leader in the development teams. I had been working as a consultant and/or salesperson beforehand in various service companies, which had given me wide-ranging expertise. This career path had helped me develop a broad culture in IT applications, always striving to provide the best solution for the customer.
Since the beginning of 2022, I have had the chance to grasp a new challenge by taking up the position of Team Leader for the Odoo team in the Solutions Business Unit.

What does the position of Team Leader involve?

My main task is to coordinate the team in its everyday operations. As the Odoo activity is just kicking off at NSI, I spend much of my time explaining this new expertise not only in-house but also to our customers, assisted by the sales team. The other aspect of the job that I like is making sure that each person is in the right place at the right time. This helps colleagues feel fulfilled while ensuring customer satisfaction. I feel fortunate to be driven along by a particularly brilliant, motivated team, which makes my job so much easier.

Describe your daily work at NSI in 3 words

In 3 words, I’d say “Rock’n’Roll”. At NSI, we listen to our colleagues as much regarding team strategies, or even company strategies, as regarding the operational sides of the job. On the same day, I might combine a strategic meeting with general management, a project review with a colleague and a customer meeting. What’s more, as Odoo is an attractive product, the day can change in an instant following a call from a prospect, so I have to be on my toes.

In your opinion, what makes NSI an attractive employer?

You only really realise it when you’re here, but there’s a real willingness at NSI to make every single project a real success for the customer. That gives our work true purpose and makes us proud. More than any other reason, I think it’s that we feel good at NSI, so we stay here and make a career of it.
Beyond that, the size and the number of professions encompassed by NSI allows everyone to find a role that suits them. Internal mobility has been encouraged over the last few years, which provides attractive career prospects.

What would you say about your colleagues and your managers?

I have had the chance to work with colleagues with wide-ranging experience and from all over. As one example, the Odoo team comprises 50% experienced colleagues, many of whom are more than halfway through their career, and 50% young people who have just joined the job market. Thanks to this mix, young recruits learn from working with our more senior members and older workers stay young! It’s a great balance of experience and innovation. As a general rule, NSI management is very accessible and always ready to hand out advice; I try to do the same as best I can in my management style.

Has your role changed over time?

As I mentioned before, there are great perspectives at NSI. I started out as a project leader and then a team leader in the development team. In 2021, I worked in pre-sales which was more general. It was great on paper but suited me less in the day-to-day aspect. NSI took swift action by offering me a new challenge when they heard I wanted to make progress. Now it’s up to me to see this through.

Among NSI’s values, which inspires you the most or which do you identify with, and why?

Among all the NSI values, I’d choose “Commitment & Responsibility” because we can’t do this job without listening and respect for each other, which are two other NSI values. By committing to our workers as much as we do to our customers, we set our sights on their satisfaction.

Did the health crisis have an impact on your professional life?

As a fervent supporter of remote working whenever possible, I saw its limitations when that was the only option. At the start of the pandemic, we really felt everyone’s implication to keep on working effectively from home and that made it a success. As the months went by, years even, I really needed to get into the office and benefit from the social life there, and also the teamwork. Since then, NSI has set up remote working in a structured way, maintaining a collective presence in the office. This seems the ideal compromise to me.
